ROSSI @WINTER TEST 2016
VALENTINO OPENS THE 2016 WINTER TEST 2016 WITH A TRULY WINTRY HELMET!
The highly anticipated 2016 MotoGP season has started with the first tests in Sepang where Valentino Rossi showed off the new graphics on his Pista GP “Winter test” special helmet.
In Sepang at the moment, the weather is sweltering but despite this, Valentino's AGV Pista GP helmet is decidedly wintry with a snowman and snowflakes.
The left side of the helmet features ice crystals on a blue background while a friendly smiling snowman, wearing a yellow Yamaha hat and scarf, cover from the top of the helmet to the visor. Valentino's number 46 features on the back of the helmet in pale yellow. As always, the graphics of the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team rider's helmet were designed with Aldo Drudi.
For Valentino and AGV, the 2016 season marks a special milestone: the rider from Tavullia will have been racing wearing AGV helmets for 20 years. This immensely important collaboration started in back in 1996 and has seen Valentino grow and become the unrivalled Champion he is today and has allowed AGV to become a symbol of excellence thanks in no small measure to the contribution and technical input provided by Valentino.
The Pista GP originates from the AGV Extreme Standards system, an innovative process that revolutionises the helmet design method to measurably and demonstratively improve impact protection, compact design, field of vision, aerodynamics, light weight, ventilation and ergonomics. AGV have set higher safety standards for their helmets. The AGV Extreme Standards method sets homologation protection standards that are even higher than the legally required ones and checks the results with virtual and laboratory tests.
