JOAN MIR’S SPECIAL HELMET FOR MOTO2 WINTER TESTS IN JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA
Jerez de la Frontera, November 17th. The two days of tests in Jerez officially inaugurated the 2018 MotoGP season, where Joan Mir will have the chance to demonstrate in Moto2 the talent he brought to light this year. 2017 was a record-setting season for the Spanish rider who secured the Moto3 World Championship by winning 10 races overall, an unprecedented record in the category.
Following the gold helmet he wore to celebrate earning the world champion title, here are the new colors for the AGV Pista GP R that the world champion will wear during the first tests with his new team. In Moto2, Mir is joining Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS and picking up the baton from Franco Morbidelli, who also won the World Champion title this season. Yellow and camouflage graphics are the official colors of Joan Mir. This special Winter Test helmet made by AGV in collaboration with Starline designers takes up the graphics on the bike and the theme on the race suit of the rider from Mallorca.
Mir will wear the head-to-toe safety system by the Dainese Group, which integrates the AGV Pista GP R helmet, the race suit equipped with D-Air technology, Full Metal D1 gloves and Axial Pro In boots.
“I am happy to begin my adventure in Moto2 with such a beautiful helmet. AGV and Starline never disappoint!” said the Spanish rider on the eve of winter tests on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit.
A perfect combination of protection, performance and comfort, the Pista GP R is the result of AGV Extreme Standards. This innovative integrated design protocol revolutionizes the design process, allowing for improvement in helmet performance in terms of its protection against impact, peripheral vision, design, weight, aerodynamics, ventilation and ergonomics. The innovative AGV Extreme Standards process raises the bar in terms of technology in helmet research and development, and represents a milestone in head protection systems.
