“Legends die hard. They survive as truth rarely does.”


In its 40th anniversary year, Dainese heralds the future with a brand new digital magazine covering the legends of the past. With four online magazines over 2012, Dainese delves into the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s showcasing the people, events and products that have created the legend. Issue 1 re-introduces Lino Dainese’s dream of creating his own company in the world of motorcycling, highlighting the images and influences from the decade of long hair and groovy shapes. We are proud to report that Giacomo Agostini is one influence still burning with a passion to race. Keeping one eye on the present, former world champion Nicky Hayden and freeride mountain bike rider Paul Basagoitia tell us what us it takes to stay at the top. Continuing the Icons theme from the 2011 Dainese Presents: Speed issue, we look at the legends from the era including Barry Sheene, Johan Cruyff, Muhammad Ali and Dieter Braun.
