Paulin in the top ten at the Loket GP Despite the result, the Grand Prix of Czech Republic, gives our rider faith.
Loket (Czech Republic), 5 August 2012 – The 12th round of the MX1 series saw another positive performance from Gautier Paulin who keeps a firm grip on his 4th place in the MX1 Championship.
As soon as the flag dropped in the first race, Paulin and his Kawasaki KX-F 450 were right up there with the leaders and at one point he was lying in third place which goes to show he has got his race feeling back. Unfortunately, a couple of mistakes cost him precious time which allowed his followers, Max Nagl and Clement Desalle to get past him. Gautier then found the right rhythm and crossed the line 5th just behind Desalle.
Paulin started from the front in the second race but at the first turn, got stuck between two other riders and relegated to the back of the pack. Things then got worse with a minor fall on the next lap. Although he started his fight-back late and the choice of lines to take when passing was very limited, he managed to claw his way back to 11th place that gave him 8th overall.
The 13th round of the Championship will take place on 19 August at the Matterley Basin track in Winchester, England.
