Paulin 3rd MX1 at the "Motocross of Nations"
Lommel (Belgium), 30 September 2012 – Fresh from his 3rd place in the MX1 World Championship Series, Gautier Paulin confirmed his fighting spirit by playing a major role in the 66th Motocross of Nations event.
The official Kawasaki rider wore a AGV AX-8 helmet that had been personalised with the colours of the French team. After an extremely demanding race on a deep sandy track with huge potholes, he crossed the line in third in the Premier class behind the newly crowned Antonio Cairoli and the German rider Max Nagl who was a member of the team that won the event.
Gautier had a good start in the first race and was able to pick the best lines to fight his way into second place. In the next race however, he was making his way to the middle of the group when he collided with the American rider Justin Barcia and fell. He managed to recover several positions and ended the race in eighth.
