Paulin 4th in the European GP
Thanks to the good result obtained in the last but one Championship race Paulin keeps his 3rd MX1 place.
Faenza (Ravenna), 9 September 2012 – Another good result for Gautier Paulin, the AGV pilot that last year co-operated with AGV Helmets in developing and refining the AGV AX-8 helmet that he’s been using this year in competition together with the official Yamaha rider David Philippaerts.
On the Faenza circuit, in Romagna, made tricky by the storms of the previous day that limited the trajectories available for overtaking, the French racer went near the podium with a 4th place. On Antonio Cairoli’s triumphant day, who won the title with one race still to go, the Kawasaki pilot stood out in the second round when he started in fifth position and, after overtaking a couple of pilots started chasing the two leaders.
Unfortunately a mistake was disastrous since he lost touch with his two opponents that he couldn’t catch, crossing the finishing line in third place. In the starting round, Gautier made a series of mistakes that relegated him to seventh position in spite of the superb times he achieved in the last part of the race.
Paulin obtained a good fourth place that allowed him to stay in third place in the Championship. For him performing in the 16th and last leg, taking place on 24 September on the Teutschenthal track in Germany (about 50 km from Leipzig), will be decisive since he has to manage the six points’ lead he has on his fellow countryman Christophe Pourcel.
